How domain registration in India works
You search a name, pick an extension, and pay for a year or more. The registry writes the name to you. Hosting is a separate bill. A domain without hosting can still hold email or a future site. Start with a search on check domain availability, then come back here for the price bands.
WebJi® has registered names for Indian businesses since 2005. Invoices show 18% GST. The homepage is where hosting starts after the name exists.

What .in, .co.in and gov.in each are
.in and .co.in are public Indian extensions. .in suits an Indian business. .co.in suits a brand that wants the company marker. .IN domain registration goes further on the country-code rules. gov.in is not one of those products. It is the government registry, with eligibility limits and its own process. A shop, a clinic or a private firm does not buy gov.in from this page.
.in names go through NIXI checks. Keep PAN, Aadhaar or the company papers ready so the name is not left unpaid and unverified. Activation of a normal public name is meant to be immediate once the registry accepts it.
Renewal, privacy and transfer
Renewal is the column that matters in year two. A low first year that jumps at renewal is how domain bills surprise people. Free WHOIS privacy is included on names we register, and renewal reminders are sent by SMS. Transfer of a name you already own is a separate step from a new registration. Ask for the transfer quote before the name expires.
UPI and other Indian payment methods are taken on the billing account. If a name you want is not in the table, email support@webji.services and the price is confirmed before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does domain registration cost in India?
Indicative prices on this page, read on 29 October 2026, before 18% GST: .com ₹900–1,200 to register and ₹1,000–1,400 to renew; .in ₹500–800 to register and ₹700–1,000 to renew; .co.in ₹500–900 to register and ₹800–1,100 to renew. The first year and the renewal are different numbers. Read both columns.
Is gov.in the same as a .in domain?
No. gov.in is a government namespace with its own eligibility rules. A normal business registers .in, .co.in or .com through a registrar. WebJi® sells those public extensions, not a government domain.
What documents does a .in name need?
NIXI requires identity checks for .in names. Have the business or personal ID ready before you pay, and finish the check inside the window the registry sets. The exact document list is confirmed at order time.
Is WHOIS privacy included?
This page states free WHOIS privacy on the names we register. Renewal reminders go out by SMS. Privacy does not hide a government or registry obligation.
How fast does a domain go live?
Public extensions we register are set to activate as soon as the registry accepts them. DNS after that depends on the nameservers you point at the site.
