What you are paying for when you buy an SSL certificate
The certificate lets browsers trust the site over HTTPS. Domain validation checks that you control the name. It does not put your company name on the certificate. A wildcard is the right package when shop.example.com, mail.example.com and the bare domain should share one certificate. Code signing is a different job: it signs an application, and it will not fix a browser warning on a website.

How to choose among SSL certificate providers in India
Judge the package, not a top-ten list. One domain or many subdomains. A website padlock or a software signature. A price in rupees per year, before GST, not a dollar price and not a per-day teaser. Issuance for domain validation is usually quick once you prove you control the DNS or the site. You renew on the certificate's own expiry.

Free SSL, mail names and renewal
A free certificate on hosting covers the website hostname it was issued for. A mail server that uses its own hostname may need a name on the certificate. Say that in the order if mail is the reason you are buying. Do not buy code signing to fix webmail.
